well i will start with season of fate that i finished a while back but did not have the time to write a review for it. first impression of the series when i saw the preview was like 'ermmmmm doesn't sound that great' and i typically loose interest when it come to that 1900s settings. not sure if the time frame is correct but the time when china was influenced by western culture, so like people starting to wear suits and dress more western in fashion. generally these settings gets me off the series...
watching that series was like solving a piece of jigsaw puzzle because they just had way too much going on!!! the war between the two restaurants, the relationship between the 3 main protagonists, the link between michelle's role and this guy with the glasses (no clue who his name is) and such... it was just way tooooo complex for a short series.
michelle acting as a mental patient was just not the right role for her! come on guys!!! it just put me off when she tries to be all innocent and childish when she simply don't have that face for it! i really felt sorry for derek's character... he went through soooooo much in that series and he should of got more than he deserves. but what i was happy with is getting to see Ho Jeh acting again =]. i miss her because the last time she acted for tvb was like back in best selling secrets.
one of the lamest thing was how that guy in glasses got shot in the head in the last episode but still managed to survived ==.... WHAT THE HELL!!! he was shot point blank range with the shooter like a few feet away!!! AS IF THAT WON'T KILL SOMEONE!!!
anyways... the series was complex and all over the place. probably not worth watching if you have not already seen it. however roger kwok did put up some funny scenes that kept it going =]
