Reviews

finally i get to do some reviews on the movies and tvb series i have been watching. planning to talk about tvb tonight. Born rich and 2 other series i am watching at the moment ( a chip of the old block and beauty of the game). well lately born rich is the only series i saw that is from first ep to finales so others i will comment later when i see all of them.

Born rich: that series has be famed by tvb as they main drama this year but by viewers it has be famed to be just another ordinary tvb series that received for bad criticism than good. the drama firstly was way way too long! the first 20 or so episode was totally unnecessary. there was a lot of scenes that could of been cut. for instance all these earlier love imaginations of marcus in the earlier episodes from angie. her character was a waste of time in this one. she was probably no use till the ending because all she did earlier was dreamed about marcus ==. LAME!!! fenix kwok, actress for angie, has loss incredibly a lot of weight! my lord if she looks anorexic in this episode that i don't find her good looking anymore =\. yatming (gallen lo) was just an awesome character, by that, i don't mean i agree to his evil deeds just that i really enjoy his acting in the film and the acting gallen lo put into Born Rich. i mean for someone who had nothing in malaysia so someone that nearly overthrown cosmobank corporation! the road he chose to gain his power and fortune was evil and disturbing. the rape scene and the attempted assassinations (to continue his disguise as yatming. the series really picked up at midway when everything was going out of place; the slow realisation of yatmings true identity, yatming's evil plans are going deeper, and all the drama inside the family. that was the peak of the series i reckon. after watching it i felt like i wasted lots of time on them first 20 something episodes =\. yatsum's true objective with yatming shouldn't been revealed so early, it completely wrecks that 'mysterious' sense although i guess everyone would know she went back to yatming for revenge ( i mean who wouldn't after someone has raped you????). ending was very predictable. i mean that happy ever after ending just happens to be on every tvb series. but on the side note... marcus son was ADORABLE!!!

as a replacement of Born Rich and another series Beyond the Realm of Conscious tvb has released 'a chip of the old block' and 'beauty of the game'. it is still airing at the moment but i have seen it up to date with them. so far 'a chip of the old block' is totally weird! the storyline is like "????" at first i was like ohhh a modern day drama but half way through the first episode ron ng the main protagonist gets trapped in an escalator and travels back in time. he goes back into the 1960s when his dad was still a youngster. but after watching the first 11 episodes i slowly picked up the storyline and started to think the series as a 60s setting more then a modern day drama. family drama with many laughs and depiction of a close relationship between father and son. so far not bad i enjoy it more then born rich =]

beauty of the game is a series about the entertainment circle =]. interesting topic to script about to be honest. the entertainment circle scripting about themselves? are they really going to show out some reality or completely fake, or a mix of both? so far only 6 episodes out and i have seen 4 or 3. kate tsui is the main character. like i said the series talks about the entertainment circle. i am assuming from synopsis and stuff that drugs will become a part of the drama. PLEASE SAY NO TO DRUGS! probably will receive some bad stuff from this series as i know a lot of viewers hate Kate tsui. i don't know why i find her okay. but a lot say she tries too hard to climb up the ladder. i reckon shirley yeung is worst! but that is only my point of view.

well that is my reviews for tonight... up past my bedtime to write this up =\. should of been in bed a while ago since i got golf tomorrow xD.

shall continue this tomorrow with saw 6, the final destination, rebellion and the most recent that i just watched last night, AVATAR (in 3D). stay tuned!
