well the movie tells us a story behind humans and na'ves as well as their inter-relationship with Earth and Pandora. Pandora is another universe along with its own native creatures and people called the na'ves. Human Beings have developed a complex system where the humans, or more precisely scientists and the military, enter the world of Pandora via a genetically modified na've (a combination of human and na've genes) called avatar. it has a really simply storyline but turns complex midway as the story begins to twist. the main objectives for the humans are to enter Pandora for scientific research but mainly for a mineral buried deep inside Pandora's crust that worth millions. it can be described as that money is the root of all evil because that is what exactly the humans did to Pandora and it's living beings. eventually money will drive these crazy people into trying to destroy a beautiful planet.
on the other hand however, when there is villain there is always heroes =]. A few of the peoples associated with the project the earth had with Pandora turned out to have "fell in love" with this place and decided to defend their own people's plans to wipe out Pandora. i mean who wouldn't be when the place is enclosed with mother nature??? a quote from the movie from jake (protagonist) "it's like the total opposite now, in here is reality and out there is the dream" tells us how lovely the place is. words can't describe it someone just have to watch and definitely wish we can experience it =D
one of the most important points i got from the film was how we, human beings, have destroyed the earth so much since the time of civilisation. and with much technological advances it equates to the harm to be ever more quicker =\. it showed us, or at least me, how we should of really treated earth and how important something is when it's gone. a very touching part of the film was the message it carried for me. looking into Pandora and Earth i just thought Pandora was on Earth back in prehistoric times. till civilisation this Pandora of ours has since slowly disappeared.
definitely a 5/5 and a strongly recommended =]. then before i finish just think about how earth has changed over the years when watching Avatar. think about what civilisation has done to our beautiful Pandora we once had.
